I would like to know where the people in Firestone work, their median income is $81k.

The Firestone community is only about 15 min north of Denver on 1-25 so as with most suburbs the job climate is very diverse. Firestone is also located in Weld county which is the largest oil and gas county in the state. Hope this helps, I lived within 15-20 miles of Firestone for the last 18 years.

Looking for cheap rent in Denver is a lot like looking for Waldo! You know it can be done but it's not ez!

Yes the cost is less but if you have a job, in let's say Lakewood the cost of gas and wear and tear might undo the cost you save.

Should have tried the Eastern Plains! Not ALL of "Colorado" is unaffordable! Just because it doesn't have mountains around it doesn't mean it's not "Colorado"!

So basically live on the Eastern Plains in order to find affordable housing! Hey, even the farming towns on the plains far from the Front Range and the mountains are "Colorado" too! I am surprised Leadville isn't on here. That city is among the cheapest in all of the mountain areas. Sure it's at 10,000 feet and you see winter-like conditions for 9 months out of the year, but hey, it's affordable!

It would be nice if the salaries kept up with the cost of living. It ridiculous that you can make a great salary but still struggle sending your kids to college, etc.
