Police in Denver and Aurora will not be changing their nonenforcement policies on immigration, both departments said Tuesday.
Officials from both departments issued statements on immigration enforcement after President-elect Donald Trump said he wants to deport 2 million to 3 million undocumented immigrants who have criminal records.
“Since the election, many questions have been raised about Aurora Police Department’s current non-enforcement policy on immigration. Specifically, people are asking if we intend to change our policy,” Chief Nick Metz said in a statement posted on Facebook. “The simple answer is: No.
