La Loma Restaurant is a Denver staple and most people have been coming here with their family for years. I remember ordering the pollo asada and standing over by the tortilla machine, watching the woman make little balls of dough into fluffy tortillas with my grandfather while our food cooked.
La Loma’s is the first place I go when I want Mexican food. It is not the most authentic, but it is sure good! I usually order the pork fajitas with a side of green chili-which is like “green gravy” as my aunt says.
The prices have gone up significantly over the past year, so I do not get to visit as often as I’d like, but I still make time to go at least once a month.
Head on over to La Loma’s, grab a margarita (I like the peach, but the regular are just as delicious), and feast on some Pollo Asada with green chili while watching the tortillas being made fresh…you are almost always guaranteed to see a small child with their parent or grandparent watching in awe.
