Swimmers in Florida panic as hammerhead shark heads toward beach

NAVARRE, Fla. – Video shows swimmers in a panic and other beach visitors screaming as a shark swam right up to the beach.

The waters off of Navarre, Florida, emptied of people as a hammerhead shark was seen heading straight toward swimmers Tuesday afternoon.

On a nearby fishing pier, Dan Flynn caught the scene on video and posted it to Facebook.

“This just happened off Navarre Beach Pier,” he wrote. “10 ft hammerhead going right at a swimmer and lifeguard…..insane!”

Stay the hell out of their house. They have to be there, people and their "floaties" do not.

Paid for vacation at Navarre Beach next week. I'll brave the sharks! I need a damn vacation. Was more worried about the flesh eating bacteria! Thanks for the damn kill joy share!

Hammerhead sharks are one of the most docile sharks, they had absolutely no reason to panic. You can go on open water dives with schools of hundreds of hammerheads in the Gal√°pagos Islands and there is virtually no risk involved.

Not sure if a shark in the ocean is worse than a bear in your backyard lol.

Do not forget rattle snakes. However, i would take snakes, lions, and bears any day over sharks, jelly fish, and flesh eating bacteria.
