This footage was captured from a dash cam on a Ski/DIA (Airport) shuttle van. It was heading eastbound 1/4 mi East of Eisenhower/Johnson Tunnel on Interstate 70. Several cars with out of state license plates were involved in the crash. Watch the video below.
If u drive SLOW drive in the right, left lane is for passing by drivers...this wouldn't have happened if the guy stayed in the RIGHT
I tell family and friends back east all the time that drivers who have not driven in the mountains before that it's a whole different experience then driving in the snow any where else. I'm from Minnesota and even after driving in the winter there it took me a few years to be comfortable here. 33 years later I take the approach of if it's not necessary why drive in that environment...at all!
Old picture, old story, only the date has changed. Literally the same exact story that was posted during the last storm. They didn't even change the thumbnail! News, everyone.
This is why it took 6 hours of traffic to get down. Either they're dead or they know not to speed when it's icy Ashley Langley
l notice all the posts made by amin include hating on "out of staters" l was born in Denver general hospital in 1969. Lived here my whole life. How many of you haters can say the same? It's not a true Colorado value to be hateful. True Coloradans help thier neighbors and are generally easy going. Thats one reason we legalized marijuana. How many of you ADMIN haters on here are born and raised and never left.? My guess is NONE
Lilsten there are people in my neighborhood who dont know how to drive safely. Not just out of state folks who helps give Colorado revenue.....
Same kinda thing I deal with almost everyday...I drive for one of the airport shuttle companies....ya see these morons running around like their sh*t don't stink then they're in a ditch!!
That's what happens when you people move here just for the pot you get morons that don't know how to drive in the snow
That's what I was going to say. Unfortunately people move here and it's super congested now and then this crap happens on the daily. Ugh....
Am I the only one who wonders why no one stopped to see if that man who just flipped his truck wasn't dead? Or severely injured?? I know it's obviously a risk to pull over, but I'd never feel ok seeing that occur and just driving by... (yes I'm a native)
We only know that the camera car didn't stop. But they wrecked into a pre-existing crash, so chances are help was already on the way. Also DIA shuttle vehicles are on strict time constraints. They only stop if involved in a wreck. In this instance it's not direct involvement. The ford driver just has anger issues. Lesson learned, the hard way.
Nick Ziolo the guy was driving like an idiot and past a airport van driving passengers . He could have hurt people. plenty of people get around just fine in cars other than AWD. Excuses for putting lives in danger is pathetic.
Don't be in the left lane..... you live in Colorado where it snows, therefore you should own either a 4x4 or AWD vehicle. Duh.
My grandchildren could drive better at 14 than 50% of CO drivers. They grew up in a rural area and knew weather.
Doubtful they understand driving 60 mph in the weather with more drivers around them then they've seen in their little rural life.
It is the terrible weather DA, It came in quick froze the streets and made it all ice. Nothing to do with tourists. Like a native Coloradan is special?
I am a seventh generation native, and yes I am very much equipped to handle the ever changing conditions in Colorado . Because it's in my blood and my family has prepared me since in could listen, yes there is something special and I will teach anyone who needs help.
Natives learned how to drive in these conditions from day 1. And yes it came fast and froze the streets AS MANY STORMS IN COLORADO DO, hence the reason natives are more equipped to handle these conditions.
6 generation Colorado kid and yes being native makes a difference. We grow up with this and our family teaches us handed down techniques from the time were in a car seat. And like Ryan mentioned anybody who needs a lesson in driving in snow I will help. Wrecks are 100% preventable in the snow
If only there was some sort of service to warn people that snow was coming so they could prepare their vehicles! Or if only Colorado was known for its snow so that residents could start preparing their vehicles in late fall! Oh if only!!!
This page has become a heaven for xenophobia. It snowed too much or it didn't snow - blame transplants. Employer terminates an employee high at work - blame the sober transplant for giving employer an option to hire someone who isn't high.
