VIDEO: Stanley Hotel Ghost “Lucy” Shuts A Door Over and Over and Moves Lollipops

We came across this video today that we thought was very strange. I know you have all heard about the paranormal occurrences that happen routinely at the Stanley Hotel. This group was on a ghost tour at the iconic hotel and had some things happen that they couldn’t explain and it was all caught on film. The description of the video reads below.

This is a video of our experience with the ghost of “Lucy” at the Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, Colorado. This was our second ghost tour, and she wasn’t active at all on the first one. While details are few and far between on her, it is believed she is between 18-20 years old. It’s possible that she was an actress. This place is truly haunted!

If you don’t believe what you saw in this video check out the comment that user Todd Griffiths posted on the video.

Fortunately, I did some research and read this before I went so I was prepared and ready to inspect.  The hinges on this door are as old as the building, and if you know anything about these hinges, they can’t be modified to house a spring. When I looked at the hinges on the door, there’s just no way. I’m open to other suggestions of manipulation however….just ruling this theory out.  I was on my hands and knees looking for anything (i.e. fishing line); nothing.  The door does in fact rub on the carpet, and I was within 18″ of the door when it closed.  I would even accept gravitational anomaly except for the carpet rub.  My next suggestion if you ever go back, a security guard enters each room then locks the Concert Hall up after midnight.  If you ask at the desk, he will gladly take you with him for a “free tour” when he goes..  If you want to see unexplained phenomena (notice I didn’t call them “ghosts”), forget the tour and go alone with a security guard…have your digital camera ready.  You’ll be glad you did.
What do you think? Is the Stanley Hotel really haunted?

The lollypop thing is nothing more than a parlor trick. Put it on a tabletop and see if it does the same thing. The door hinges are spring loaded people. Please use common sense. The hotel fired the real investigators and started doing this crap instead. So f'n sad!

There isn't much of it though so maybe that's why you aren't hearing stuff

Oh yeah because a ghost just wants to shut doors and knock down lollipops for all of eternity.

Hey! Haha no I wasn't there for this one. The door is classically our nemesis because it would shut sometimes on its own when the carpet wouldn't hold it up and other times it would stay open for months. It was strange! And I never trusted the ole lollipop trick...

Sorry to say that the hinges on that door are indeed spring loaded.  It's the carpet that holds the door open and over the years that carpet has been worn.  Making the door much more likely to close on it's own.  That being said, the ghosts there are the real deal but the door in Lucy's room.....nope.

I stayed in room 217 and all night people kept coming up to the other side of the door to take pictures. So we had a little fun and made noises and tapped on the door. Pretty hilarious

The door is on spring hinges by the way. I have been on the tour somewhat strange but if you examine the door it is clearly spring loaded
