Lakeside Opens on May 13th!

Way back in 1908, A little Resort opened on the shores of Lake Rhoda.  It was built by the Denver Tramway Company, and was named White city.  The Tram companies were making Parks on the outskirts of town, giving people a destination to go play.  Lakeside was one of those parks.  A few years later, Adolph Zang of the Zang Brewing Company bought the park, and started adding amusement rides and the iconic Tower of Jewels that we associate with Lakeside.

In 1940, the parks saw its first Rollercoaster.  The Massive Cyclone that we still love today.  In 1955, they added the Wild Chipmunk.  In the 1930’s They added a track, and Auto Racing went on there until 1988.

This year, the park opens on May 13th at 1PM.  The rides start moving at 2, and you can ride until at least 11PM.  It cost $5 to get in, and you can buy ride tickets, or an unlimited rides pass for $30 on weekends, or $20 during the week.  If you’re short, or a kid, you can knock $5 off the rides pass.  And if you want a fun summer job working in the sun, Lakeside is now hiring.

Get more details and plan your trip now.
