Denver’s Auraria Campus will soon be home to a new mural that will celebrate Mexican culture and the country’s relationship with the United States.

The mural, titled “Unidos,” was commissioned by the General Consulate of Mexico in Denver to commemorate the 130th anniversary of the establishment of the consulate. Designed by Mexican artist Spaik it will be located on the east side of the PE Building on Auraria Campus, at the intersection of Larimer and 11th Streets. The 5280 Trail also passes through this intersection.

“This area was made by Mexican people years ago and it will show students different cultures,” Spaik said per the Denverite.

“According to Axios Denver, the artist behind the mural is Cory Feder, a Korean American with deep roots in Colorado, though currently based in New Mexico. CAPU selected Feder to create a mural that tells a powerful story of movement and migration experienced by Asians and Asian Americans. This artistic endeavor aims to honor the rich tapestry of their history and contributions,” says ASAM News.

The “Unidos” mural is a welcome addition to Denver’s art scene, and it is sure to be a popular attraction for visitors and locals alike. It is a powerful reminder of the strong bonds that connect the United States and Mexico, and it is a symbol of hope and cooperation for the future.

According to CEO of the Center Colleen Walker, the mural “is a testament to our commitment to enhancing the student experience and creating a campus environment that fosters creativity, learning, and inclusivity.”
