The Harlem Wizards took on a team of Southern Colorado teachers in a fun-filled fundraiser on Tuesday night. The game at Coronado High School in Colorado Springs raised money for the school’s PTA and teacher grants.

“Whether you are a PTO/PTA, an education foundation, a booster club, a junior class, a project graduation, or a non-profit, charitable organization, the Wizards can pump up your fundraising while providing an enthusiastic community building event,” says the Harlem Wizard website.

The Wizards, known for their high-flying dunks, fancy ball-handling, and trick shots, quickly put on a show for the crowd. The teachers, led by Coronado High School basketball coach Michael Strobel, played hard but were ultimately outmatched by the Wizards’ superior athleticism.

“Through our brand of basketball,” Eric Jones, player-coach for the Harlem Wizards, said to Denver7, “trick hoops, alley-oops, and a whole lot more; they’re going to leave dribbling basketballs, high-fiving, and most of all, smiling.”

The money will be used to fund student and teacher grants and purchase new courtyard equipment and athletic supplies.
