Residents of the Cherry Ridge subdivision in Cherry Creek found themselves unexpectedly sheltering in place on Wednesday afternoon as investigators searched for a suspected burglar. The incident began with reports of multiple break-ins within the neighborhood, prompting a swift response from the Cherry Hills Village Police Department.

Around 4:37 p.m., after receiving a wave of concerned calls, officers instructed residents to lock their doors and remain vigilant, reporting any suspicious activity. The precautionary shelter-in-place order was lifted just over an hour later, but officers remained in the area, determined to apprehend the culprit.

Male suspect: White male, blue/dark jacket with black hoodie, black gloves, dark baseball hat, black facial covering, light-colored blue jeans and brown shoes.

Denver Police said the man has still not been caught. They are asking anyone with information that can help identify the suspect or knows his whereabouts to contact Denver Metro Crime Stoppers at (720) 913-7867.
