After 45 years of serving the Englewood community, the beloved Mexican restaurant El Tepehuan will be closing its doors on December 31st.

The decision to close was made by the owner, Graciela Corral, who is ready to retire and spend more time with her family.

“I feel emotional,” Corral said to 9News. “I feel good that the community has responded very well and I thank everyone in the community.”

Corral, who has owned El Tepehuan for over 30 years, took over the business from her husband after he passed away.

“A lot of good people in the community have supported me a lot after my husband died,” Corral said.

Corral is grateful for the support she has received from the Englewood community over the years.

“That’s why I am sad. I am leaving, and they wanted me to continue for more years. I wanted to, but now I don’t,” she said.

For those who want to experience the flavors of El Tepehuan one last time, the restaurant will be open until December 31st. It is located at 3495 S. Broadway and can be reached by phone at 303-781-0243.
