Get ready for a wild ride, Colorado! Temperatures in the Mile High City are expected to plummet from near-record highs in the upper 60s to several inches of snow within just 24 hours. This dramatic shift in weather has prompted the Pinpoint Weather team to issue a Pinpoint Weather Alert Day.

When:

  • Thursday: The warming trend continues, with temperatures climbing to the lower 60s.
  • Thursday night: Conditions begin to shift, with snow starting in the northern mountains. Winter weather advisories are in effect from 9 p.m. Thursday to 5 p.m. Friday.
  • Friday morning: Light snow arrives in the metro area.
  • Friday afternoon: The heavier snowfall arrives, bringing a second push of snow accumulation.
  • Saturday morning: Snow tapers off.

How much:

  • Metro: 2-4 inches
  • South and west of downtown: 5-6 inches
  • Palmer Divide: 3-6 inches
  • Fort Collins: Trace to 1 inch

While the snowstorm isn’t expected to be major, the sudden change in weather from mild to wintery conditions could create some challenges for commuters. Drivers should be prepared for potentially slick roads and reduced visibility.

Stay prepared for storms and forecast changes, a Pinpoint Weather Alert Day alerts
