Residents are shaken, with many feeling unsafe in their own homes. The thief’s bizarre MO adds to the unease: breaking into houses, ignoring valuables like electronics and jewelry, and focusing solely on intimate items.

“It’s just so creepy,” says one resident, who wished to remain anonymous to KDVR “He didn’t take anything else, just my underwear. It’s like a violation of privacy, and it makes me feel like I’m being watched.”

The disturbing pattern has been unfolding for several months, with multiple break-ins reported. Security cameras have captured footage of the suspect, described as a man, but his identity remains unknown.

The close proximity of the targeted homes and the similarities in the thefts have led police to believe they’re connected. However, a lack of witnesses and the suspect’s elusiveness have hampered the investigation.

“We’re taking this very seriously,” says a  Denver Police Department spokesperson to reporters. “We understand the concerns of the community and are committed to apprehending this individual.”

Here are some additional details from the original article that could be incorporated into the new piece:

  • The suspect is described as a man, likely in his 20s or 30s, with a thin build and dark hair.
  • Some victims reported feeling watched before their homes were broken into.
  • Police are urging anyone with information about the suspect or the thefts to contact Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at (720) 913-7867.
