Good news, Denver pickleballers! Your pleas for more court time have been heard. Denver Parks and Recreation is spiking the number of indoor courts this month and adding a volley of outdoor courts in the years to come.

Here’s the score:

  • 13 new indoor courts have landed at recreation centers across the city, bringing the total to a sweet 66. Catch some rays (and slams) at Ashland, College View, Green Valley Ranch, La Alma, Rude, St. Charles, and Swansea rec centers. Check each center’s website for court schedules.
  • 15 temporary outdoor courts are getting a permanent upgrade, ensuring your game isn’t rained out.
  • Drop-in play hours are getting a 30% boost, adding a whopping 200 hours of playtime across 27 rec centers. That’s more dinking, volleying, and trash-talking for everyone!

The indoor/outdoor court situation sometimes led to net-taunts and backhand complaints from players, neighbors, and the agency itself. Remember the Eisenhower Park closure due to noise concerns? Not a smooth serve.

But Denver Parks and Recreation is aiming for a rally, not a fault. These new courts and extended hours show they’re listening to the city’s growing pickleball passion. So grab your paddle, find your court, and get ready to smash a winner!
