Milk Jug Prank Sparks Panic, Leads to Evacuation at Colorado Mills Mall

LAKEWOOD, Colo. — Chaos erupted at the Colorado Mills Mall in Lakewood on Saturday evening when what seemed like gunfire turned out to be a prank gone wrong. Around 5:40 p.m., Lakewood police rushed to the mall after receiving reports of shots fired in the food court.

The shopping center was swiftly evacuated as officers searched for potential shooting victims. However, no injured individuals were found. As the investigation unfolded, it became clear that the commotion was not due to gunfire but a group of juveniles pulling a misguided prank.

Witnesses reported that three boys wearing masks had climbed onto chairs in the food court, loudly shouting and slamming multiple milk jugs onto the ground. The resulting loud noises were mistaken for gunshots, triggering the panic.

Police apprehended two of the three juveniles involved, citing them for causing a public disturbance. Despite the scare, no one was harmed, and the mall resumed normal operations after the situation was resolved.
