Second Time’s the Charm? Aurora Faces Another Apartment Complex Crisis

The city of Aurora is taking steps to address ongoing concerns at another apartment complex after recent action was taken against a property on Nome Street. Neighbors near The Edge at Lowry, located close to Dallas Street and 12th Avenue and reportedly managed by CBZ Management, have expressed worries about increasing trash and alleged criminal activity in the area.

“About three weeks ago, the trash collection just stopped completely,” said a resident who chose to remain anonymous due to fear of retaliation. “We’re seeing things get worse, with gunfights on our block becoming more frequent. We don’t want this problem to escalate further.”

This situation follows the city’s closure of the Fitzsimons Apartment complex on Nome Street and Colfax Avenue, also managed by CBZ Management, citing it as unsafe and unfit for residents. Now, those living near The Edge at Lowry are hoping for similar action to improve conditions in their community.

“It’s disheartening,” the neighbor continued. “Our community is made up of hardworking people, many of whom may not have a lot of money, but they are doing their best to maintain their homes and gardens. We all have a stake in this neighborhood, and we want to see it thrive, not decline.”

Meanwhile, a spokesperson for the city of Aurora stated that they plan to address the trash and landscaping issues at the property, with cleanup efforts scheduled for August 22.
