A Colorado man has been handed a staggering 143-year prison sentence after a bizarre and dangerous crime spree that began at a Burger King drive-thru. The incident, which occurred on October 17, 2022, involved Eugene Robertson attempting to pay for his meal with drugs. When the Burger King employee refused, Robertson escalated the situation by pulling out a gun.

This reckless decision marked the beginning of a night filled with chaos. After brandishing the weapon at the fast-food worker, Robertson’s crime spree continued throughout Denver. He entered a store across the street, where he pointed the gun at a cashier, shot a security camera, and fired at two individuals outside the store.

Robertson’s actions led to his conviction on 17 charges, including eight counts of attempted murder. His erratic and dangerous behavior left a trail of fear and destruction, ultimately resulting in a lengthy prison sentence.

“We consider this 143-year sentence justice for the multiple victims he put in fear that night,” said Eric Ross, spokesperson for the 18th Judicial District Attorney John Kellner. “Jurors recognized the severity of the crimes this defendant committed. We believe the judge imposed an appropriate sentence.”

Robertson’s actions have now earned him a place among the ranks of some of the most reckless criminals, serving as a stark reminder of the consequences of such senseless behavior.
