“Denver Mayor Vows Action Against Alleged Venezuelan Gang Activity”

As videos depicting alleged gang violence at Aurora apartment complexes circulate, residents across the Denver metro area are increasingly on edge. Denver Mayor Mike Johnston has responded firmly, assuring the public that city leaders are ready to tackle the issue head-on.

Mayor Johnston explained that the Denver Police Department has been proactively working with federal, state, and local agencies to address the emerging threat. While there is no evidence that Venezuelan gangs have taken over any Denver apartments, Johnston emphasized that the city is increasing police presence in areas deemed at risk.

“It’s infuriating,” Johnston stated. “This should never happen in our state, and it will not be tolerated in Denver. We will hold those who break the law accountable. We will hunt them down, find them, arrest them, and deport them. We have zero tolerance for this type of behavior.”

Johnston’s remarks come in response to numerous videos making headlines about Venezuelan gang violence in the Denver metro area. He noted that while the footage was not taken in Denver, the city is committed to ensuring that such incidents do not occur within its borders.

The Denver Police Department echoed this stance, stating that they take the presence of the Tren de Aragua gang seriously. Although they acknowledge that gang members may be linked to local crimes, they have found no evidence of apartments being taken over in Denver.
