Denver Broncos ‘Evaluating Options’ for New Stadium

The Denver Broncos have hinted at the possibility of building a new stadium, which could bring significant changes beyond just a new game day location.

On Thursday, the Broncos broke ground on their new training facility in Englewood. During the press conference that followed, team officials addressed various questions from fans. While much of the focus was on the new facility, some attention was directed toward the future of the Broncos, including the potential for a new stadium.

Team owner Greg Penner suggested that the Broncos are exploring the idea of a new stadium. “We’re evaluating options for a new stadium, potentially, whether that’s on the current site or somewhere else, but we weren’t ready to make that decision at this point,” Penner said.

Team president Damani Leech confirmed that the idea of a new stadium is not off the table. “I’ve been getting the stadium question since day one, about two years ago. So, we’ll continue to get that. I think the answer is the same: it’s a pretty long process, we’re still evaluating everything,” Leech said. “Everything is on the table. We’ll continue to explore it and make a decision at a time that we think makes sense for us.”

As the idea of a new stadium continues to be discussed, some fans have mixed feelings. Broncos superfan Merry Brannon expressed concerns, saying, “It’s a disruption in a sense because we’re still trying to find our groove and get our rhythm.”

A new stadium could bring several changes for the Broncos, including the possibility of hosting a Super Bowl in Denver. Currently, Empower Field at Mile High does not meet the requirements for hosting a Super Bowl, one of which is a warm climate or a roofed stadium. If the Broncos were to build a new stadium that meets these requirements, it could open up the opportunity for Denver to host the iconic event. However, as Leech indicated, the idea of a new stadium is still in the early stages and might not come to fruition.
