Reusable Cups Coming to Coors Field

When we first heard that the Colorado Rockies wanted to introduce reusable cups we assumed they meant the athletic supporters players wear to protect their rocky mountain oysters. Turns out it’s beer cups.

Next time you’re at Coors Field in Denver grabbing a drink, your cup experience will be a little different. The Rockies have partnered with r.World, the nation’s top reuse platform, to bring reusable cups to the ballpark.

Starting soon, the days of disposable cups will be history. After enjoying your drink, instead of tossing your cup in the trash, you’ll place it in a designated bin. r.World will then collect, sanitize, and return the cups for future use.

According to Kevin Khan, the Rockies’ Chief Customer Officer and Vice President of Ballpark Operations, this change is part of the team’s larger effort toward sustainability at Coors Field. This new initiative aims to cut down on waste and make operations more eco-friendly.

In fact, Coors Field has already implemented this system at various concert venues, like Red Rocks, Fiddler’s Green, and the Buell Theater. In August 2024 alone, more than 20,000 single-use cups were eliminated from Colorado landfills. As this program expands, the environmental impact is expected to grow even more in 2025 and beyond.
