Four people were left with minor injuries after an unexpected crash at an Aurora ice cream shop on Saturday afternoon. The accident took place at the Snowl Café, located near the intersection of South Havana Street and East Jewell Avenue, a little after 3 p.m.

The crash occurred when an elderly driver mistakenly hit the gas pedal instead of the brake, sending the vehicle careening into the popular dessert spot. The impact left four individuals inside the café injured, though fortunately, none of the injuries were serious. Of the four people involved, one person was taken to a nearby hospital for further evaluation and treatment. The other three received care at the scene.

The crash disrupted what would have been a normal afternoon at the café, as customers and employees alike were caught off guard by the sudden and chaotic event. Witnesses described the scene as alarming, with broken glass and the front end of the car protruding into the café’s seating area.

Police were quickly on the scene to assess the situation and ensure no one was trapped inside the building. While it remains unclear whether the elderly driver was cited, the police have indicated that no major criminal charges are expected, as the incident appeared to be accidental.

As for the damage to the Snowl Café, authorities have yet to release a full assessment of the extent of the destruction. Local patrons expressed concern about how long it might take for the café to repair the damage and reopen for business.

While the exact cost of repairs and the timeline for reopening remain unknown, the community is rallying behind the small business, hoping it can bounce back soon from this unfortunate incident.
