Protest Halts Traffic for Nearly 40 Minutes in Cherry Creek Shopping District

Pro-Palestinian demonstrators gathered outside the Cherry Creek Shopping Center on Saturday, waving Palestinian and Lebanese flags while chanting in support of their cause. The protests, which started around 2 p.m., escalated as the group moved into the intersection of 1st Avenue and University Boulevard, causing traffic disruptions in the area.

Traffic in Cherry Creek was at a standstill for approximately 30-40 minutes, according to social media reports, as Denver police and Colorado State Patrol officers responded to the scene. The protest eventually subsided, and by 4 p.m., the roads were reopened.

Denver police confirmed that two individuals were arrested in connection to the demonstration, facing charges related to criminal mischief. As the situation develops, updates will follow regarding further details on the protest.
