Stock Show Parade Delayed Due to Weather Conditions

The National Western Stock Show has delayed its opening parade through downtown Denver due to forecasted cold and potentially snowy weather on Thursday morning. Originally scheduled for noon, the Kick-Off Parade will now begin at 1 p.m. on Thursday, starting at Union Station.

The decision to push back the parade by one hour was made in collaboration with the National Weather Service, city officials, and transportation experts to ensure the safety of animals, riders, participants, and spectators. The delay aims to allow for improved weather conditions during the event.

A Pinpoint Weather Alert Day has been issued for Thursday morning, warning of slick roads and fresh snow during the morning commute.

Despite the delay, the parade route remains unchanged. It will begin at Union Station, travel down 17th Street, and end at Glenarm Place. The parade will then return down 18th Street and conclude at the Stock Show Fair at McGregor Square.

Kathy Sabine, chief meteorologist and Colorado ambassador, will lead the parade as the grand marshal, marking the start of this iconic event an hour later than originally planned.
