The Denver Broncos are taking a major step to improve the safety of high school football players across Colorado. Through a partnership with Riddell and the Colorado High School Activities Association (CHSAA), the Broncos will supply over 15,000 Riddell Axiom helmets to every high school tackle football team in the state.

This initiative is part of the Broncos’ largest philanthropic investment to date, called the “ALL IN. ALL COVERED.” program, which will run from 2025 to 2028. Each year, 25% of the helmets will be distributed to the state’s 277 high school tackle football teams, including both large and small schools, from 5A programs to 6-man teams.

Carrie Walton Penner, Broncos owner and Foundation Board Chair, expressed pride in launching this game-changing program that will have a lasting impact on Colorado youth. The goal is to remove barriers to participation, enhance safety, and promote health for high school athletes statewide.

Allie Engelken, Broncos VP of Community Impact, noted that the cost of helmets is a significant barrier for many schools and families, making this donation especially valuable. By providing these helmets, the Broncos are helping ensure that more kids can safely participate in the sport.

Support for the initiative comes from Children’s Health Colorado, CommonSpirit Health, and Ent Credit Union. Broncos President Damani Leech sees this as part of the team’s ongoing commitment to invest in the future by creating equitable access to football for all students.

The new helmets will be distributed in May 2025, ensuring that athletes are fully equipped for the fall football season. The Broncos’ investment in the safety of young athletes is a step toward improving the future of Colorado’s high school football programs.
