Falcons Employed in Downtown Denver to Manage Crow Problem

If you’re strolling through Downtown Denver in the near future and spot some majestic, fierce-looking birds, don’t be alarmed—they’re part of a unique solution to a pesky problem. For the past few months, building owners in the area have enlisted the help of trained falcons to help clear out nuisance crows, which have been causing headaches with their droppings.

Wings Over Colorado, a company based in El Paso County, specializes in using birds of prey like falcons to scare away unwelcome birds such as crows and pigeons. The business has been hired by property owners in Downtown Denver to tackle the growing issue of crows roosting in high-traffic areas, leaving a mess behind.

The falcons, under the supervision of their handlers, aren’t meant to harm the crows but simply to intimidate them. By sending in these natural predators, the crows are encouraged to move on to a less populated area, allowing the downtown spaces to stay clean and more pleasant for visitors and residents alike.

This method of bird control is not only effective but also humane, as it prevents the use of chemical repellents or other harmful deterrents. It’s a creative solution that is gaining attention for its effectiveness in maintaining the cleanliness and aesthetic of the city’s bustling streets.
