Aurora, Colorado Ranked Among Most Dangerous Cities for Drivers

Aurora has gained an unfortunate new reputation—one of the worst cities for road rage in the U.S. Despite being Colorado’s third-largest city with plenty of advantages like parks, job opportunities, and proximity to Denver, Aurora’s roads have become increasingly stressful and hazardous for drivers.

Why Aurora Made the List

A recent study ranked Aurora #12 among the worst cities for road rage, measuring factors such as commute time, dissatisfaction, inefficiency, reckless driving, wasted time, and even shootings. While cities like Omaha, with a larger population, ranked among the least road-rage-prone, Aurora’s heavy commuter traffic and limited public transportation contribute to its ranking.

How Does Aurora Compare?

Houston topped the list with a road rage score of 64.15, while Lincoln, Nebraska had the lowest score at 1.5. Aurora’s 51.45 score placed it just outside the top 10, signaling serious frustrations on the road.

Experts recommend reducing stress before driving and avoiding escalating tense situations, advice that may be more relevant than ever for Aurora drivers.
