These Colorado Areas Could See Over a Foot of Snow by Saturday

A major winter storm is blanketing Colorado’s mountains, bringing heavy snowfall just in time for the Presidents Day weekend. If you’re heading to the slopes, be prepared for deep powder, slow traffic, and avalanche risks as the storm continues through Saturday afternoon.

Who’s Getting the Most Snow?

Several mountain areas are expected to see over a foot of fresh snow by Saturday evening:

  • Rabbit Ears Pass: 18-24 inches
  • Aspen, Crested Butte, Vail: 12-18 inches
  • Cameron Pass, Loveland Pass, Winter Park: 8-12 inches
  • Breckenridge: 6-8 inches

With the heaviest snow falling along I-70 and in southern Colorado, expect slick roads, slow travel, and limited visibility. Avalanche warnings remain in effect as the storm adds to already unstable snow conditions.

While the mountains get slammed, Denver and the metro area may only see a light dusting Saturday evening. Stay tuned for the latest updates as conditions develop.
