Rob Gronkowski Shuts Down Broncos Comeback Rumors

Former NFL tight end Rob Gronkowski has dismissed recent rumors linking him to a return to football with the Denver Broncos. The speculation gained traction earlier this week, but Gronkowski quickly shut it down, telling FOX Sports reporter Jordan Schultz on Wednesday, “Crazy, bro. They must know something about me that I don’t.” The four-time Super Bowl champion, who last played in 2021, added that he just returned from a trip to Australia and is focused on relaxing, not playing football.

Gronkowski, 35, retired for a second time in 2022 and has since worked as an NFL analyst for FOX Sports. Over his career with the New England Patriots (2010-2018) and Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2020-2021), he became one of the most dominant tight ends in NFL history, recording 621 receptions, 9,286 yards, and 92 touchdowns—ranking in the top 10 all-time in each category.

The Denver Broncos, who are in desperate need of a reliable pass-catching tight end for second-year quarterback Bo Nix, had fans hopeful that Gronkowski might be the answer. However, with no plans to return to the NFL, the Broncos will have to look elsewhere to bolster their offense for the upcoming season.
