Denver Man Fears for Safety as Scam Victims Keep Showing Up at His Home

A Denver man in Green Valley Ranch has been dealing with an alarming situation after dozens of strangers have shown up at his home, demanding PlayStation 5 consoles they purchased online. The issue began six months ago, shortly after he moved in, when an unknown person knocked on his door asking about a PS5. Initially dismissing it as a mistake, he soon realized that a scammer had been using his address to trick buyers into thinking they were picking up their consoles. Since then, around 30 people have arrived at his home, sometimes at odd hours, all believing they had purchased a gaming system from an online seller.

Not every interaction has been peaceful, and some visitors have become aggressive, yelling, swearing, and even making threats when they realize they’ve been scammed. The man, who wishes to remain anonymous for safety reasons, said the situation is becoming increasingly stressful, and he now fears for his family’s security. He worries that someone might damage his home, attempt to break in, or even be armed. With a wife and child at home, he feels uneasy leaving them alone, concerned that a confrontation could escalate.

He has contacted the police, hoping they can track down the scammer, but for now, he remains on edge. While authorities investigate, he is urging online shoppers to be extra cautious when making purchases, especially from unverified sellers on platforms like Facebook Marketplace. He advises buyers to never send money upfront and always meet in a neutral, public location to ensure the item is legitimate before completing a purchase. Denver police echo this advice, reminding residents to always verify sellers and avoid deals that seem too good to be true.
