The Rise and Fall of Bash Nightclub in Denver

In the early 2000s, Bash Nightclub was one of Denver’s hottest nightlife destinations, located at 1902 Blake Street in the heart of LoDo. The venue, which had previously been home to clubs like Blake Street Baseball Club and LoDo Music Hall, transformed into Bash, bringing a fresh energy to the city’s club scene. With high-energy music, packed dance floors, and a lively crowd, it quickly became a go-to spot for clubgoers looking for a wild night out.

One of the highlights of Bash was KS107.5 radio host Kathie J’s regular hosted nights, which added star power and excitement to the club’s events. Known for her fun and engaging personality, Kathie J helped attract a loyal crowd, making Bash a staple in Denver’s nightlife. The club was known for its themed parties, celebrity appearances, and electrifying DJs that kept the party going until the early morning hours.

Despite its success, Bash Nightclub closed its doors in late 2008, marking the end of an era for Denver’s nightlife. But the space didn’t stay empty for long. Soon after, it was transformed into Summit Music Hall, a live music venue that continues to draw crowds for concerts, showcasing everything from rock to hip-hop to electronic dance music.

Today, 1902 Blake Street remains a key piece of Denver’s entertainment district, evolving over time but still serving as a hub for music and nightlife. While Bash is now a part of the city’s clubbing history, its legacy lives on in the memories of those who danced the night away under its flashing lights and those who possibly heard occasional gunfire in the parking lot.
