Denver Among Nation’s Top 10 Healthiest Cities, Study Finds

Denver Among Nation’s Top 10 Healthiest Cities, Study Finds

Denver continues to flex its health-conscious muscles, ranking as the 7th healthiest city in the United States in WalletHub’s 2025 report. The annual study analyzed over 180 of the most populated cities across the country, evaluating them on four key wellness categories: health care, food, fitness, and green space—each worth 25 points.

Colorado showed well overall, with Aurora and Colorado Springs also ranking in the top half of the healthiest cities list. Denver stood out especially in the “food” and “green space” categories, where it ranked No. 13 and No. 12 respectively. Aurora impressed with a top-15 ranking in fitness and one of the lowest average gym membership costs nationwide. Colorado Springs tied for first in the U.S. for mental health counselors per capita.

As Colorado cities continue to emphasize wellness, they not only attract residents focused on health, but also reinforce the state’s reputation as one of the most active in the nation.
