Two Pedestrians Struck and Killed in Denver Crash; Investigation Ongoing

Two people lost their lives Saturday night after being struck by a vehicle in a tragic incident that unfolded in Denver’s Lincoln Park neighborhood. The fatal crash occurred just after 10 p.m. near the intersection of Federal Boulevard and West 14th Avenue, a busy corridor known for both vehicle and pedestrian traffic.

Initial reports from the Denver Police Department (DPD) indicated the victims were riding electric scooters. However, investigators later clarified that the individuals were on foot at the time of the crash. Authorities have not yet determined whether the pedestrians were crossing the street, waiting at a crosswalk, or walking on the sidewalk when the collision occurred.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene shortly after the incident and confirmed that both pedestrians had sustained fatal injuries. The driver of the involved vehicle remained on scene and cooperated with law enforcement. At this time, police have not announced whether the motorist will face any charges or citations.

The area surrounding Federal and 14th was temporarily closed as investigators worked to document the scene and gather evidence. The identities of the two victims will be released by the Denver Office of the Medical Examiner once next of kin have been notified.

The crash adds to a growing number of pedestrian fatalities in the city, prompting renewed calls for improved safety measures at high-risk intersections. Denver police are continuing to investigate the cause of the crash, including whether speed, impairment, or distraction were factors.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or may have dashcam footage from the area around the time of the crash is encouraged to contact Denver Police.
