Family Seeks Justice in Thornton Double-Homicide and Arson; $12K Reward Offered

A devastated family is pleading for answers and justice months after a tragic double-homicide and arson in Thornton claimed the lives of Kendra and Chad Anderson. The couple was found dead from gunshot wounds late on the night of February 26 inside their home on Columbine Street, near East 160th Avenue and York Street. Their house was also intentionally set on fire in what police believe was a calculated attempt to destroy evidence. Tragically, the couple’s two dogs also died in the blaze.

Thornton police have not identified any suspects, and the case remains unsolved. In hopes of generating new leads, Metro Denver Crime Stoppers has raised the reward for information leading to an arrest to $12,000, thanks in part to a private donation from an anonymous source.

“This was a devastating and calculated crime that shattered a family,” said Interim Police Chief Greg Reeves. “We believe someone in the community holds crucial information.”

In a heartfelt statement, the Anderson family described the loss as incomprehensible. “Chad and Kendra were loving, devoted parents… While nothing can ever bring them back, we are pleading with anyone who has information to please come forward.”

Anyone with tips can contact Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867. Callers may remain anonymous and could be eligible for the cash reward.
