Aurora Police Searching for Suspect in High Line Canal Trail Assault

Aurora police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man accused of attacking a woman along the High Line Canal Trail in Expo Park on the morning of May 8. The assault occurred around 6:30 a.m., when the woman was walking on the trail and was suddenly attacked from behind. She was able to fight off her attacker and then warned other women nearby before the man fled the scene.

The suspect was last seen heading north through Expo Park toward East Virginia Avenue. Police described him as approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighing around 175 pounds, with dark shoulder-length hair. At the time of the attack, he was wearing green pants, a black jacket, and white tennis shoes. Investigators believe he may have sustained injuries to his face during the encounter.

Despite multiple attempts to identify him, detectives have exhausted all current leads. The Aurora Police Department has released images of the suspect and is urging anyone with information to come forward. Tips can be submitted anonymously to Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867, and may be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000.
