Fort Collins Police Arrest Suspect in Armed Bank Robbery

Fort Collins Police Services have arrested a suspect in connection with a bank robbery at ENT Credit Union on West Drake Road. The robbery occurred around 2:03 p.m. on May 27 when a masked male, armed with a firearm, entered the bank and stole an undisclosed amount of cash from several employees before fleeing on foot. Police quickly located and arrested Isaac Meraz, who matched the suspect’s description. He was booked into the Larimer County Jail on charges including felony menacing, aggravated robbery, and theft over $20,000.

Rocky Mountain High School was briefly placed on secure status due to its proximity to the crime scene. The bank remained closed for nearly three hours during the investigation. Officers also recovered key evidence during a search warrant at a nearby residence on City Park Avenue. “As we remain committed to keeping our neighborhoods safe, we want to assure the public that swift action was taken following this armed bank robbery. The suspect was apprehended without further incident, and no injuries were reported,” said Assistant Chief Frank Barrett in a statement. Authorities thanked the community for their vigilance and encouraged residents to remain aware of their surroundings.
