Could the Rockies Beat the Savannah Bananas? At This Point, It’s a Fair Question

Could the Colorado Rockies beat the Savannah Bananas? No, seriously—could they? With the way this Rockies season is going, it’s no longer a ridiculous question. The team is off to one of the worst 70-game starts in modern baseball history, and fans are more likely to see a strikeout looking than a reason to cheer. At Coors Field, the loudest excitement often comes from Dinger hurling t-shirts into rows of empty purple seats.

Meanwhile, the Savannah Bananas are gearing up to take over Coors Field on August 9th—not to face the Rockies, but their usual dancing, bat-flipping rivals, the Party Animals. And it’s already sold out. In an hour. Think about that: a touring team of entertainers sold out a major league stadium faster than the Rockies can turn a double play.

The Bananas have become the Harlem Globetrotters of baseball, and fans are loving it. They’ve got the riz, the drip, and the energy. They make baseball fun again—with stilt walkers, synchronized dances, and mid-inning TikTok skits that somehow feel more satisfying than a solo home run in a blowout loss.

So we’ll pose it to you, Denver: if the Bananas played the Rockies in a real game, who takes the W? The pros in purple, or the showmen in yellow? Sound off—because at this point, it might actually be close.
