According to the Aurora Police Department, officers responded to reports of gunfire at 11:21 p.m. in the parking lot of an apartment complex at 384 S. Ironton Street. Residents who heard the shots rushed outside and discovered a man suffering from gunshot wounds.
In a moment of quick thinking and compassion, a good Samaritan at the scene transported the victim to a nearby hospital before emergency responders could arrive. As of the latest update, the man remains hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.
Authorities are still trying to determine what led up to the shooting and have not yet identified any suspects.
