More than 100 Dogs and Cats Rescued from Northglenn Home in Animal Neglect Case

The total number of animals removed from a Northglenn home this week has reached 101, following what authorities describe as one of the most severe animal neglect cases the city has seen. The discovery was made after a community member tipped off authorities about deplorable living conditions inside a residence on East 116th Drive.

Northglenn Animal Control officers responded on Wednesday and began removing dozens of dogs and cats, many found in filthy, overcrowded conditions. Tragically, one dog and one cat were found dead inside the home. As of Friday, officials were still working to capture two remaining cats using humane traps.

All surviving animals are currently being cared for at the Riverdale Animal Shelter in Brighton, where they remain the legal property of the owner. According to a shelter spokesperson, the owner has refused to relinquish the animals and is facing charges related to their condition.

The case has sparked concern among locals and animal advocates, with many hoping for swift legal action and permanent placement of the animals into safe, healthy environments.
