Denver to Host Mile-Long Community Lunch with 5,280 Seats

This Saturday, Denver’s Auraria Campus will be home to what organizers are calling the longest lunch table in the nation — a mile-long setup with 5,280 seats. The event, created by the nonprofit Longer Tables, is meant to bring Coloradans together for a shared meal, community bonding, and a reminder that connection starts at the table.

The effort involves over 1,300 pounds of chicken, 660 tables, and a carefully curated menu by Chef Austin Cueto of Serendipity Catering, inspired by local and Native American flavors. Despite the event’s massive scale, it’s rooted in something simple: building community and tackling loneliness through conversation and connection.

Executive Director Tim Jones has hosted similar large-scale meals across the country, but says this one is uniquely symbolic — a mile-long table in the Mile High City. The event is open to the public, and tickets cost $5.28 in reference to Denver’s 5,280-foot elevation.

As of Thursday, around 1,500 seats remained available. Tickets can be purchased at:
