Police Searching for Woman Accused of ‘Sleight of Hand’ Bank Thefts Across Denver Metro
Authorities are searching for a woman suspected of using sleight-of-hand tricks to steal money from banks across the Denver metro area. The Metro Denver Crime Stoppers issued a crime alert stating the woman allegedly committed bank larceny on July 23 and 24 by asking tellers to exchange money and then using deceptive hand movements—known as “distraction theft”—to commit the crime.
The FBI’s Rocky Mountain Safe Streets Task Force and the Denver Police Department are now working together to locate the suspect. She is described as a white woman in her 20s to 30s with a heavy build.
Investigators believe the same woman may have targeted banks in Arvada, Denver, Lafayette, Thornton, and Westminster.
