Dakota Ridge Marching Band’s Equipment Trailer Stolen, Community Rallies to Help

The Screamin’ Eagles Marching Band at Dakota Ridge High School is scrambling after their equipment trailer was stolen from the school’s parking lot earlier this month.

The missing trailer, a white 2007 S and H model decorated with DRHS stickers, was last seen between August 6 and 7. When staff discovered it gone, they found locks had been cut and wheel chocks left behind. Inside were band uniforms, hats, plumes, props, and space for large instruments—all critical for the upcoming competition season.

“When I first heard, I thought it had to be a mistake,” said band director Cody Kiesling. “We rely on that trailer for so much, and losing it right before competition is devastating.” Drum Major Santiago Ramos Arjona echoed the frustration, calling it “a gut punch” for students who spend long hours preparing for performances.

Replacing the trailer could cost up to $8,000, a financial burden the program doesn’t have the budget to absorb. Still, the band refuses to let the setback derail their season. Community members and parents have already begun rallying behind the Screamin’ Eagles, offering support as the students continue to push forward.
