BBB Warns of Fake Colorado Work-From-Home Job Targeting Job Seekers

Job seekers across Colorado are being urged to stay alert after the Better Business Bureau (BBB) of Southern Colorado issued a warning about a suspicious company, Timberloop Delivery LLC — also known as Timberloop Shipping.

On the surface, Timberloop appears to be a Colorado-registered business offering remote jobs that promise flexible hours, easy work, and monthly paychecks of $4,000–$5,000. But according to the BBB, those offers are a front for a growing job scam. In the past 30 days alone, the BBB has received more than 20 reports linked to Timberloop through its Scam Tracker tool.

Here’s how the scam typically plays out:

  • Applicants are recruited through job sites like Indeed with titles such as “mail screener” or “reshipping associate.”

  • Workers are told to pay money up front or provide sensitive personal details (such as bank account info, ID, or photos) as part of the hiring process.

  • They are instructed to receive and reship packages on behalf of the company.

  • When payday arrives, the company cuts off all communication. Websites go silent, emails bounce back, and employee logins are deleted.

One victim described sending in personal details, along with reshipping eight packages, only to find their account wiped clean on payday.

The BBB also uncovered troubling details about the company itself:

  • The Timberloop website was only created in July 2025 and conceals ownership information.

  • Emails listed on the site bounce back undeliverable.

  • The addresses provided in Colorado cannot be verified, suggesting Timberloop may be using a virtual office to appear legitimate.

The real danger goes beyond unpaid wages. Scammers often sell personal data on the dark web, which means victims may not notice the impact until months — or even years — later. Identity theft, fraudulent accounts, and compromised bank details are all possible outcomes.

How to Protect Yourself From Job Scams

The BBB urges Coloradans to:

  • Be wary of offers that sound too good to be true.

  • Never send payment, bank information, or personal IDs before fully verifying a company.

  • Research employers at BBB.org and check for complaints or scam alerts.

  • Report suspicious offers through the BBB Scam Tracker at bbb.org/scamtracker.

With job scams on the rise nationwide, the BBB says the best defense is vigilance. If you think your information may have been compromised, monitor your bank accounts and credit reports closely.
