Mobile Barber Shop Van Damaged in North Denver Crash
Denver police are investigating a crash in north Denver after a mobile barber shop van and a car collided near East 56th Avenue and Memphis Street on Monday afternoon. CBS News Colorado’s helicopter captured aerial footage around 3 p.m., showing the van pulled to the side of the road with significant damage to its rear passenger area. Multiple police officers, crash investigators, and emergency responders were seen assessing the scene and speaking with witnesses.
Authorities said three people were taken to the hospital with minor injuries, though all are expected to recover. The driver of the car involved in the crash was cited for reckless driving following the initial investigation. The crash took place just south of the Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge, in an area that typically sees steady commuter and airport-bound traffic, as it sits about 10 miles southwest of Denver International Airport. Police have not released additional details about what led up to the collision but say the investigation remains ongoing.
