No Kids, Just Kicks: Colorado’s Sexiest Hot Springs Hideout by a National Park

One of Colorado’s most iconic outdoor destinations also happens to be surrounded by a few unexpected gems. Near Great Sand Dunes National Park, visitors can find a unique hot springs resort that blends family-friendly soaking with a distinctly adults-only escape, according to reporting from NewsBreak and outdoor writer Nate Wilde.

Just outside Alamosa in the small town of Hooper, Sand Dunes Recreation – Natural Hot Artesian Water has become a popular stop for travelers looking to unwind after exploring the tallest sand dunes in North America. While much of the property is open to all ages, the resort features a dedicated 21-and-over area known as The Greenhouse, offering a quieter, more relaxed experience for adult guests.

The Greenhouse lives up to its name, housed inside a massive 10,000-square-foot greenhouse filled with tropical plants and natural light. Inside, adults have access to four hot springs pools set at varying temperatures, along with a sauna that can accommodate up to ten people. The space also includes patios, food service, and a full bar, creating a spa-like atmosphere that feels worlds away from the surrounding high desert.

Beyond soaking, the resort offers multiple lodging options for those who want to extend their stay. Guests can choose from cabins, camping sites, or RV parking, making it easy to turn a visit into an overnight retreat. Its close proximity to Great Sand Dunes National Park makes it an especially appealing option for travelers looking to pair outdoor adventure with serious relaxation.

For visitors seeking a peaceful, adults-only hot springs experience near one of Colorado’s most famous natural landmarks, this lesser-known oasis continues to draw attention for all the right reasons.
