Northern Colorado Favorite Wing Shack Set to Open First Metro Location in Thornton
A popular Northern Colorado wing chain is making its move into the Denver metro area, with Thornton set to land the first location.
Wing Shack, known for building a loyal following in cities like Greeley, Fort Collins, Loveland and Windsor, is planning a major expansion that could bring up to a dozen new restaurants to the Denver suburbs over the next few years. According to the Denver Business Journal, the rollout will focus on neighborhood-heavy areas rather than downtown Denver, targeting the same suburban communities where the brand has already found success.

The first metro-area location is expected to open in Thornton in early summer, marking the beginning of what could become a much larger presence along the Front Range. If the company hits its expansion goal, it would significantly grow beyond its current Northern Colorado footprint and introduce more competition to the already crowded wing scene in the suburbs.
State licensing records show the company is already well established across Northern Colorado, and the Denver expansion signals confidence that demand for its style of wings will carry into new markets. Additional locations are expected to follow as leases are finalized and permits are approved, with future sites likely popping up across residential pockets throughout the metro area.
For now, all eyes are on Thornton as Wing Shack prepares to test just how hungry Denver’s suburbs really are.
