Coors Field’s New Challenge Might Be the Wildest Thing You Try All Summer
A viral ballpark food challenge is making its way to Denver, and it’s definitely not for the faint of heart. The “9-9-9” challenge — which dares fans to consume nine beers and nine hot dogs over the course of a nine-inning baseball game — is headed to Coors Field this season, giving Rockies fans a chance to test their limits.
The over-the-top promotion is part of a partnership between Aramark Sports + Entertainment and competitive eating legend Joey Chestnut. Instead of full-sized items, fans will take on nine flight-sized beers paired with nine mini hot dogs — still a serious feat, especially at Denver’s altitude.
The challenge will be available at six Major League ballparks across the country in 2026, including stops at Citi Field, Citizens Bank Park, Kauffman Stadium, Oracle Park, Daikin Park, and Coors Field. Originally introduced during the 2025 postseason in Philadelphia, the concept is designed to bring a new level of energy and experience to the ballpark.
Participants must be 21 or older with valid ID, and each location will feature custom team-branded packaging. Whether it ends up being a badge of honor or a decision fans regret by the seventh inning, the 9-9-9 challenge is already creating buzz among baseball crowds looking for something different.
If you plan to give it a shot at Coors Field, one thing’s for sure — pacing yourself might be the real challenge.
