Ansley says her dog, Ezra, disappeared after she briefly tied him up outside the store while she stepped inside to browse for a book.
Ansley says Ezra is more than just a pet — he’s her constant companion. She adopted the mixed-breed dog more than five years ago and describes him as incredibly friendly with both people and animals. While Ezra’s breed makeup includes redbone coonhound, pitbull, and several others, she usually just tells people he’s a black lab mix because of his appearance and easygoing personality.

According to Ansley, Ezra loves going everywhere with her, whether it’s hiking trails, running errands, or simply meeting new people around town. She had taken him to the City Park Farmer’s Market that Saturday as part of her first longer outing since suffering a serious concussion several weeks ago.
After the market, Ansley stopped at the Tattered Cover and decided to quickly run inside to pick out a new book. She tied Ezra up outside the bookstore and says she was only gone for around 10 minutes. When she returned, he had vanished.
“I was incredibly shocked when he wasn’t back where I left him,” Ansley said.
Ansley is now asking the Denver community to help spread the word and keep an eye out for Ezra. She is offering a reward for his safe return and hopes someone recognizes him and helps bring him home safely.
