Not the news we wanted to hear but the January Rental Report (Rent.com) has been released and we’ve got bad news for Coloradans.

Rent is UP!

Not really a surprise, but we hate to see it. In fact, rent prices are up 22.1% nationwide for a one-bedroom, according to Rent.com.

In Colorado, it’s a tad higher than the national average at 21.95% year-over-year for a one-bedroom.

In 2020 the average monthly rent for a one-bedroom in Colorado was $1,547 and in 2021 the average monthly rent went up for $1,919.

But for the city of Denver, monthly rental prices are even higher than that. The average price for a one-bedroom in Denver is $2,064, which is up 4.96% from the same time one year ago.

Denver ranks as 24th overall for a one bedroom rental.

The national average is listed as $1,683
Boston, Massachusetts is the most expensive city for average monthly rent for a one bedroom at $3,712. The least expensive city is Montgomery, Alabama at $606.
