We’ve been in the 90’s for so long, that it’s hard to think of snow coming any time soon. But it’s not as far off as you think.

The earliest that Denver has seen Snow was on September 3rd. That Happened way back in 1961. In that Year, August had 4 90 Degree Days. and 5 Days where the High Temperature was in the 70’s. So far this year, August already had 10 90 Degree Days, and none stayed in the 70s.

In more recent history, we did have Snow in early September, even after some hot Days. On September 5th, 2020, we hit 101 Degrees out at the Airport. On September 8th, less than 72 Hours later, we had an inch of snow on the Ground.

The Farmer’s Almanac has been published since 1818, and uses an “exclusive mathematical and astronomical formula, that relies on sunspot activity, tidal action, planetary position (astrology) and many other factors” to figure out what kind of weather to expect in the next year. They are expecting a wet beginning of September, and if the temperature drops enough, we’ll get some snow.

So will it get Cold enough? according to the Weather Channel, September should be filled with a bunch of 70 and 80 Degree Days, with the temperature dropping into the 40’s. Not quite Snow Weather, but you never know… These things have been known to be wrong on occasion.
