Authorities in Missouri are searching for a woman who was mistaken for another inmate and wrongly released from jail over the weekend. Inmates often look similar, especially when they have the same hair color, eye color, height, and weight as their doppelganger. In this case, Ellen Goble—who was held in Randolph County Jail on charges of resisting arrest, burglary, drug possession, and operating a vehicle without a valid license—looked almost identical to the other inmate due for release. Sheriff Aaron Wilson tells KRCG that he is unsure how guards could tell them apart originally because they had “essentially” the same features.

To avoid situations like these in the future, Wilson says his office will be more careful about making sure they have the right inmate before releasing them.
